Chapel House

Susan Stuart, formerly a chartered accountant and investment banker, moved to Penzance in 2013 and spent two and a half years turning this Grade II listed Georgian townhouse on Chapel Street into a guesthouse, working with the architect Keith Bell. There are seven rooms, looking over the harbour towards Mount's Bay, and she has since taken in the house next door for two more that work as either hotel rooms or self-catering. Breakfast runs to 10.30, check-in is an afternoon affair, and House & Garden has called it the best hotel in Cornwall.
