Chapter One

Chapter One is Narberth's independent bookshop, run by volunteers in the old Bonded Stores — a former duty-free store for whisky, brandy and rum — as part of Narberth Museum. New and second-hand books and a café share the space, and the profits go to the museum rather than a proprietor, which makes it a community bookshop in the truest sense. Narberth is a small Pembrokeshire town with an outsized independent streak, and a volunteer-run bookshop in a listed heritage building is very much in its character. Books, coffee, and a good cause, under one old roof.
