Annwn occupies a converted bank on Market Square in Narberth, where chef-owner Matt Powell serves a single ten-course tasting menu built around foraging. Powell, who trained under Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, learned to forage as a child with his grandmother and now sources much of the menu from hedgerows and shoreline within walking distance of the restaurant. Dishes change with the season and arrive with an explanation of where each ingredient was found, from sea buckthorn to wild honey. The dining room is small, with whitewashed walls and slate floors, and Powell often serves tableside himself. Annwn opened in May 2023 and earned a Michelin Green Star the following year for its approach to sustainable, hyper-local cooking. Booking ahead is essential given the limited covers.
