Crûg Farm Plants sits at Griffith's Crossing outside Caernarfon, on land that was a beef farm until Bleddyn and Sue Wynn-Jones converted it to a nursery in 1991. The couple are known among horticulturists for regular seed-collecting expeditions to Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea, Nepal and other regions, bringing back unusual woody and herbaceous species that are propagated and trialled on site before sale. Stock includes hardy exotics, ferns, hydrangeas and epimediums not widely available elsewhere in the UK, each labelled with its wild-collection number where relevant. The nursery supplies by mail order year-round and takes visitors to the display garden and sales area by prior appointment, Monday to Friday, alongside occasional open days for the National Garden Scheme. Bleddyn Wynn-Jones has written and lectured on plant collecting, and the nursery's introductions are now grown in botanic gardens internationally.
