Dingle Nurseries has been run by the Joseph family near Welshpool since 1968, when Andy and Kath Joseph began growing Christmas trees on an acre of family land. The retail nursery now stocks a wide, often unusual range of trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennials, much of it propagated on site. Alongside it lies The Dingle, a 4.5-acre ornamental garden that Barbie Joseph developed from farmland, planted in colour-themed beds that run down to a lake and open to visitors through the National Garden Scheme. Knowledgeable staff, several of whom have worked here for decades, advise on planting for the area's exposed mid-Wales conditions. The nursery and garden sit in the Camlad valley at Frochas, a short drive south-west of Welshpool town centre.
