Joel and Charlane Durrell began restoring this derelict Victorian walled garden at Three Cocks in 2007, working from a former school football pitch and a collapsed glasshouse back toward the kitchen garden that once served Gwernyfed Park, the 1880 house designed by W. E. Nesfield. The 1.5-acre garden retains its Grade II-listed stone walls, wrought-iron gates with gilded sunflower ornament, and glasshouse range, while the wider grounds hold Grade II* status on the Cadw/ICOMOS register. The café serves light lunches drawn from what is growing outside that day, alongside home-baked cakes, and the shop sells plants propagated on site. Dogs are welcome on leads and the garden is wheelchair accessible throughout. It sits within the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, a short drive from Talgarth and Brecon.
