Great OakBookshop

Great Oak Bookshop trades from 35 Great Oak Street in Llanidloes, describing itself simply as an independent bookshop selling new, secondhand, rare and local titles, and has listed stock on AbeBooks since 2010. The shelves run past a thousand books at any time, from first editions and signed copies to regional history and cookbooks, inside a single Victorian shopfront. There is no in-house café, but the shop's own guide points customers to half a dozen tea rooms and pubs within a few doors, including the Rose Cafe and the Trewythen Arms Hotel. It opens Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 5pm, run as a standalone shop rather than part of any bookselling chain.
