Essex Pottery Studio operates from Greenstead Farm outside Halstead, run by Amanda as a family business open seven days a week. Visitors can choose paint-your-own pottery, potter's wheel instruction, hand-building sessions or glass fusing, with staff on hand for beginners who have never touched clay. The studio also runs a wholesale arm, Big Bisque, producing bisqueware for its own classes and for other pottery studios around the country, which keeps the business running outside of weekend workshop bookings. Birthday parties, hen groups and corporate team-building sessions are booked into the same space as walk-in painters, and five staff members split their time between wheel-throwing tuition and the wholesale kilns. The farm setting means parking is easy, and the studio sits away from any high street, reachable only by car or a short taxi ride from Halstead itself.
