Exchange Coffee Company roasts on site at 10 Gargrave Road, continuing a tradition local roaster Charles A. Hallas began at the same shop before Exchange Coffee took over in 1997. Beans are roasted downstairs and served in an upstairs coffee house overlooking the street, alongside teas, homewares and fine foods stocked on open shelves. Customers can sit inside or in the small outside seating area with a dog at their feet, since the shop welcomes pets. It is one of five Exchange Coffee Company roasteries and coffee bars spanning Lancashire and North Yorkshire, independently run rather than part of a café chain. The Skipton shop opens Monday to Saturday, 9am to 4pm, and closes on Sundays.
