Coffee and Clay has traded from 14 High Street in Skipton for more than twenty years, a pottery-painting studio and café owned by Nils Persson. Visitors choose an unglazed piece from the shelves, paint it at a table in the studio, and staff apply glaze and fire it in the kiln for collection about a week later; entry to paint is free, with charges only for the piece chosen. A café on the ground floor serves coffee, cake and light lunches, and is dog-friendly. The studio runs children's and adult birthday parties, hen parties and a fast-fire option for customers who cannot return within the usual week. The shop sits on the main High Street near the Cenotaph, next to the Black Horse. It opens daily, from 9.30am on weekdays and Saturdays and 10.30am on Sundays.
