Fabrications

Fabrications is a haberdashery, upcycling studio and craft workshop space run by textile designer Barley Massey on Broadway Market since June 2000. The shop stocks eco textiles, sewing and knitting notions, patchwork fabric and homewares made in-house or by other local makers, alongside a haberdashery counter of ribbons, buttons and yarn. Behind the retail floor sits The Imaginerium, a purpose-built craft space added later where Massey and visiting tutors run classes in machine and hand sewing, patchwork quilting, garment construction and upcycling. Massey also runs a bespoke commissioning service, including a 'Remember Me' scheme that turns old clothing and fabric with sentimental value into new garments, quilts or homeware. The business has operated from the same Broadway Market address for over two decades, run day to day by Massey herself rather than a wider retail group, open Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 5.30pm, or by appointment for workshop bookings.
