Ranfurly House is a listed Victorian building on Market Square in Dungannon, built as a bank and later renamed for the Barons Ranfurly, a title taken by a descendant of Thomas Knox, the Scottish landowner who bought Dungannon and its surrounding townlands in 1692. The house now serves as the visitor centre for the Hill of The O'Neill, the ancient seat from which the O'Neill dynasty ruled the area for more than three hundred years. Its permanent exhibition covers the Flight of the Earls and the Plantation of Ulster, both centred on Dungannon's role in that history. The centre also runs a monthly-changing programme of art exhibitions and craft workshops in disciplines such as wet felting, needle felting and sewing, and includes a small theatre space used for comedy, drama and music.
