The Holyhead Maritime Museum occupies Wales' oldest lifeboat station, dating back to 1858, on Newry Beach. Displays cover ship models, local shipwrecks and the seafarers who carried out rescues, alongside a collection of World War I and II artefacts and a genuine WWII air raid shelter. A gift shop stocks maritime literature and locally made crafts, and the adjacent Harbourfront Bistro overlooks the water. Open Easter to end of October, Tuesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm; adults £6, accompanied under-16s free. Registered charity 514840.
