L'Eau a la Bouche is a French delicatessen and cafe on Broadway Market, opened in 2004 by Stephane Cusset. The counter stocks British and continental cheeses, cured meats, olives, wine and fresh produce alongside deli staples such as pates, tinned fish and preserves, with a small cafe area serving coffee, pastries and simple lunch plates built from the same stock. The shop has traded from the same Broadway Market address for two decades, through the street's growth from a local market row into one of Hackney's busier weekend food streets, and continues to operate as a single independent site rather than part of a wider group. Regulars use it as a weekday grocery stop as much as a weekend cafe, and it supplies a changing selection of French regional products alongside London-made cheeses and charcuterie, open daily from morning to early evening, seven days a week.
