Lobby

Lobby is an independent lifestyle shop at 112 Chestergate in Macclesfield, opened in the summer of 2025 by Laura, who previously ran a wedding flower studio. The shop stocks design-led homeware including ceramics, glassware, candles, lighting and textiles, alongside gifts, stationery, fragrance, soap, chocolate and games, mixing pieces from UK makers with imported brands. The name refers to Charles Eames's Lobby Chair, chosen to evoke a welcoming space to browse rather than a clinical retail unit. Laura's buying deliberately avoids the muted, minimalist look common to many gift shops, favouring bolder colour and pattern instead. As well as the Chestergate shop, Lobby trades at Macclesfield's Sunday Treacle Market and sells online. It sits at the western end of Chestergate, among Macclesfield's cluster of independent shops.
