Magnum WineShop

Magnum Wine Shop has traded from Wood Street in Old Town for close to three decades, run as an independent off-licence stocking upward of three hundred wines alongside more than a hundred malt whiskies and two dozen vintage ports. A gin wall covers one side of the shop, with a trolley of flavoured gins set out separately for customers wanting to taste before buying. Staff give advice based on what a customer is cooking or the occasion being marked, rather than steering people toward particular producers, and the shop offers a bottle-engraving service for gifts and celebrations. Opening hours run Tuesday to Saturday, closing on Sunday and Monday when much of Wood Street's other independent trade also shuts. A local delivery service covers homes and offices within Swindon.
