Mourne Dew Distillery was founded in 2017 by Donal Farrell on Kilbroney Road in Rostrevor, at the foot of the mountain and forest park that share the townland's name. The distillery uses cold distillation rather than the heat-based stills more common in the trade, a method it says uses less energy and keeps more of the character of the botanicals used. The range includes Rostrevor Ruby and Kilbroney gins, six-times-distilled vodka, poitin under the Wild Pooka name, fruit liqueurs, and both blended and single malt Irish whiskey, alongside jams and preserves made from the same fruit used in the liqueurs. Tastings are not offered as casual walk-ins at the distillery itself; instead the Spirit Experience, a ninety-minute guided tasting of the range, runs as a booked session at Fearon's Bar in the village, one of the older bars in Rostrevor. The Rostrevor Ruby gin and the single malt whiskey have both scored 95 or above from the International Wine and Spirit Competition.
