Thomas Samworth spent several years staging secretive supper-club pop-ups around Sheffield, serving diners from unmarked venues, before opening this single permanent site on Crookes in 2017. The bistro occupies a small converted shop, furnished with mismatched chairs and a menu written by hand on a roll of brown paper pinned to the wall. Cooking is built around short, frequently changing plates of seasonal British produce, and the restaurant does not take payment cards; wine is strictly bring-your-own, at three pounds corkage per person. The Good Food Guide has listed the restaurant among its recommended UK addresses. Samworth still runs the kitchen himself at this one site in Crookes, with no other branches.
