Walkley Pottery and Art(Art with Krishna)

Krishna Alageswaran runs her ceramics studio from South Road in Walkley, teaching hand-building classes to small groups of up to six people rather than wheel-throwing sessions. Her own work draws on architecture and ancient cultures, built up as textured, patterned boxes and sculptural pieces rather than tableware. Classes run for beginners and improvers through the week and at weekends, with each session focused on a single technique so newcomers are not left behind by more practised hands. The studio sits on the same stretch of high street as Walkley's other independent shops, easy to reach without a car. Booking goes through the studio directly rather than a general class marketplace. Finished pieces are fired on site before collection.
