North West Jewellery School opened in April 2023 in a converted barn at Backridge Farm in Waddington, a village in the Ribble Valley near Clitheroe. It was founded by Suzanne Pattinson, a silversmith who reached the final stages of BBC's All That Glitters as a first reserve in 2021 before setting up the single-site studio the following year. The school teaches jewellery making to beginners and more experienced makers, running short taster sessions alongside longer courses in techniques such as sawing, soldering and stone setting. Classes run in small groups from the farm workshop, with students working at individual benches rather than watching demonstrations. The setting, a working farm rather than a shopfront, distinguishes it from jewellery retailers in nearby Clitheroe.
