R VRoger

R V Roger is a family nursery and plant centre on Malton Road, on the southern edge of Pickering in the Vale of Pickering. The business has grown hardy nursery stock here since 1913 and is now run by the third generation, propagating roses, trees, shrubs, soft and top fruit, bulbs and perennials on a site of around two hundred acres. The plant centre is open seven days a week and sells a wide range of home-grown and bought-in plants, seeds and sundries. Over the years the nursery has supplied plants used in Chelsea Flower Show gold-medal gardens and for private estates and gardens across the country. It remains a single independent grower rather than part of a garden-centre chain, with much of what it sells raised on the surrounding fields.
