Record Culture

Record Culture began as an online-only operation in 2016 before Lee, its owner, opened a physical shop at 11 Market Street in Stourbridge in 2020. The stock leans towards rock, indie, punk and alternative releases, though jazz, ska, hip hop and pop turn up in the racks alongside a growing secondhand vinyl section. The shop organises a record and music fair in the town twice a year and hosts occasional in-store DJ sets and listening events. It opens Tuesday to Friday from ten, with an earlier nine o'clock start on Saturdays, and stays closed on Mondays and Sundays. New release day brings in regulars checking the latest arrivals bin, and the shop takes pre-orders for upcoming pressings rather than stocking every title on spec.
