Script Haven

Opened in August 2023 by owner Leena Batchelor, Script Haven combines a bookshop, a licensed cafe and an events space within Worcester's old city walls. Stock favours independently published and self-published authors alongside second-hand titles and signed editions, with esoteric gifts and herbal products filling out the shelves. The single-site shop hosts spoken word nights, book launches and creative workshops, positioning itself as a gathering point for the city's independent writing community rather than a conventional retailer. Coffee and light refreshments are served from the same counter as the books. The shop occupies a compact unit on Amber Gate, close to the medieval walls, and has built a following among self-published authors seeking shelf space and readers seeking titles outside mainstream distribution.
