Globe Modern Bistro occupies a Tudor-beamed building on Friar Street, one of the city's most historic streets, run by chef Steve Bullock and his wife Claire as a family business. The kitchen cooks a modern British-led menu of seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, with dishes including confit de canard, steak au poivre, fried duck livers and lemon meringue pie, alongside a Sunday roast and weekend brunch. Vegan and gluten-friendly options are available throughout the menu. The dining room sits within the timber-framed frontages of Friar Street, and outside seating is available in front of the building and in a courtyard used for informal drinks and dining. The bistro currently opens Friday evenings for dinner and Saturday for both lunch and dinner, with bookings taken by phone or online.
