Sea Sky Design occupies the former post office building on Hamble's High Street, a shop and creative space run by Susie Houser and Debbie Phillips. Houser took over the gallery from artist Sandy Curry after moving to the village from Winchester, gradually building it into a stockist for original art, jewellery and decorative objects sourced from makers around the country. The shop sells gifts, homeware and cards alongside changing displays of paintings, ceramics and sculpture from Hampshire-based artists, and hosts workshops and sketching sessions for visitors. It trades from this single High Street site rather than as a chain, and has become part of Hamble's small independent retail row, alongside the village's marine and hospitality businesses. The stock changes through the year as different makers are featured, and the shop takes part in Hampshire Open Studios events, giving visiting artists a public shopfront in the village during the festival.
