Source Food Hall occupies a corner unit in St Nicholas Market, founded in 2009 when Joe, Ross and Liz took over an existing food business in a management buyout. The shop runs a butchery counter cutting whole carcasses to order, a fishmonger with a filleting service, a cheese counter and a bakery, alongside dried goods and a small selection of vegetables sourced mostly from farms in Somerset and Gloucestershire. A café at the back serves a short seasonally changing menu built from the same produce sold on the shop floor a few feet away, so a customer can eat lunch and then buy the cut of meat or wedge of cheese to cook with at home. The team also runs occasional courses in butchery, fish filleting and charcuterie for customers keen to learn what happens behind the counter.
