T D Anderson has traded from 165 High Street for well over a century, making it the oldest butcher in Linlithgow and a single independent shop rather than part of a chain. The counter carries locally sourced beef, pork, lamb, chicken and game, and much of the range is prepared in-house: black pudding and haggis are made to the shop's own recipes, and the pork, beef and lamb sausages and burgers are produced on the premises. Alongside the meat, the shop stocks jams, chutneys and sauces to go with it. Opening hours run Monday to Saturday, with an early Wednesday closing and a longer Saturday morning trade, and the shop is closed on Sundays. It sits on the main High Street close to Linlithgow Cross and the Palace, within walking distance of the town's other independent food shops.
