Talgarth Mill, on the Square in Talgarth, is the only working watermill inside the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, its waterwheel driven by the rivers Enig and Ellywe to turn French burr millstones dating to the mill's eighteenth-century origins. The building fell derelict in the 1940s and was restored to full working order in 2011 through National Lottery funding and community effort; it now holds Grade II listed status. Trustees lease space inside to three independent enterprises: Alex and Kathy's Pobl bakery, which mills its own wholemeal flour on site for slow-fermented bread; Emma and Billy Trigg's café, Trigg's at the Mill; and a craft shop cooperative run by local makers. The café opens Wednesday to Saturday, 9am to 4pm.
