Ramy and Marilyn Zack converted a Victorian biscuit warehouse on Stoddart Street into a gallery in 2002, keeping the building's original brickwork and iron columns behind the art. The premises once housed the Tyne Biscuit Factory, later Newcastle upon Tyne Biscuit Manufacturers, before standing empty for years. It now shows paintings, sculpture, ceramics, textiles and jewellery from several hundred artists and makers, with exhibitions changing through the year; a recent show gave over a full run to painter Emerson Mayes. A café occupies part of the ground floor and a small independent bookshop sits off the main gallery space. Everything on the walls and plinths is for sale, priced from small prints to significant sculpture commissions. It opens daily, including bank holidays.
