NZ 1903 6331Blaydon-on-Tyne · Newcastle & the North EastSurveyed

The company was incorporated in May 2012 and brewed its first beer, Blaydon Brick, in January 2013; a fifteen-barrel Malrex plant went in the following year. The name comes from the Blaydon Burn fire-brick works founded in 1828 by Joseph Cowen senior and Anthony Forster, and the brewery stands on Cowen Road, named in turn for the Newcastle MP Joseph Cowen junior. The taproom in the Blaydon Business Centre sells the cask and keg beers — Toon Broon and Whey Aye P.A. among them — alongside goods from a local bakery.
