The Captain's Table opened on Seaforth Street in 2018, when Julie and Sam Masson converted a building in need of renovation into the town's first dedicated seafood restaurant within thirty-five miles of Fraserburgh. Julie comes from five generations of fishermen; Sam has fished from local boats for around forty years and continues to go to sea alongside running the restaurant. The menu centres on seafood landed nearby and changes with the catch, alongside meat and vegetarian dishes for those wanting something other than fish, with dietary requirements such as gluten-free and vegan catered for. The restaurant is run day to day by the Masson family, who draw on decades of contacts among Fraserburgh's fishing fleet to source what is served, and it trades as The Captain's Table (Fraserburgh) Ltd. It is open Tuesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner, closed Mondays, and booking is advised at weekends given its compact dining room.
