The Fish Plaice trades from a shopfront on Hanover Street in Fraserburgh, continuing a family fish trade that dates to 1945, with the current shop established in 2005 and now run by the third generation. Fish and shellfish arrive daily from boats landing at Fraserburgh and Peterhead harbours, cut and prepared to order behind a traditional wet-fish counter. Regulars travel from villages up to fifty miles away for haddock, cod, langoustine and seasonal shellfish, and the shop supplies several local restaurants and hotels alongside its retail trade. Home delivery is available across the surrounding area for those unable to reach the shop in person. Trade slows over winter but the counter still restocks most weekday mornings direct from the harbour.
