The Cleveland Arms has been run by the same family for more than three decades, tucked beside Blakers Park in the Fiveways area near Preston Park. Sarah and Jamie Davies now hold the reins of the freehouse, pulling Sussex ales from Harveys, Dark Star and Long Man alongside a kitchen serving home-cooked food seven days a week, built on locally sourced meat and sustainably caught fish. The single-site pub earned TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice recognition in 2020, 2021 and 2022, and doubles as a neighbourhood fixture with quiz nights, live music and a function room for hire. Dogs are welcome throughout, and the pub was refreshed with a refurbishment in 2017 while keeping its traditional character intact.
