The Hop Vault opened on Market Street in 2020, trading through its opening lockdown to become part of Stourbridge's independent drinks scene. Housed in a former bank vault opposite the side entrance to Stourbridge Town Hall, the shop stocks bottle-conditioned beer alongside a taproom bar offering fifteen keg lines and three cask ales, plus cider, wine and spirits from small producers across the UK and Europe. The vault's thick walls and heavy door remain part of the fit-out, giving the single-site shop both its name and much of its character. Staff run tap takeovers and meet-the-brewer events alongside day-to-day retail, and the shop supplies bottled beer for takeaway as well as drinking in. It sits among a small cluster of independent traders near the town hall, part of the town's recent run of drinks openings.
