The Hunters Moon Inn stands in the village of Llangattock Lingoed, on the Offa's Dyke Path between Abergavenny and the Monnow valley. Parts of the building are said to date to the 13th century, and it works today as a country inn with rooms rather than a bar alone. The Bateman family bought and run it, offering en-suite guest rooms furnished for walkers and visitors, with countryside views, tea and coffee and wifi. Downstairs there is a bar serving real ale, a beer garden where dogs are welcome, and a kitchen focused on local suppliers, with bar food at lunch and a restaurant menu in the evening. Its position on a long-distance trail makes it a natural overnight stop, and it trades as an independent, single-site inn rather than part of a pub company or chain.
