The WalnutTree Inn

A roadside restaurant on the B4521 two miles east of Abergavenny that built its reputation from the early 1960s under Franco and Ann Taruschio, who introduced Italian-accented cooking using Welsh and Herefordshire produce to rural Monmouthshire. Shaun Hill later ran the kitchen and won it a Michelin star, and the current owners have kept the informal dining-room feel of the original country inn rather than converting it into a hotel.
