The Jeweller's Bench has occupied the same High Street premises in Great Missenden since 1982, working as both a retailer and a making workshop. A team of goldsmiths designs and hand-makes bespoke pieces in gold, platinum and silver on site at the rear of the shop, sourcing diamonds and coloured stones to commission and remodelling inherited jewellery using customers' own stones. Alongside bespoke work they carry contemporary collections from British and international designers, and run an in-house repair, re-stringing and engraving service, with most repairs completed on the premises rather than sent away. It remains independent and single-site, family-run across two generations. The combination of a visible workbench and a stocked shopfront is increasingly rare on a village high street, and draws customers from across the mid-Chilterns for engagement and wedding commissions as well as everyday repairs.
