The PotteryParlour

The Pottery Parlour operates from a studio in Greyhound Yard in Blandford Forum, established in 2008 by ceramicist Vanessa Conyers. Sessions combine time at the wheel with hand-building at the sculpting table, guided by tutors experienced in both techniques, and range from single taster classes to multi-week courses for beginners wanting to progress to their own pieces. The studio also runs themed sessions for hen parties, children's birthdays and family groups, fitting pottery around occasions rather than treating it only as a structured course. Clay is prepared and fired on site, so finished pieces are glazed and collected once the kiln has completed its cycle. Conyers designed the space around natural light from the yard, with separate areas for messier wheel work and quieter hand-building, and continues to teach alongside her studio tutors.
