Sasha Matkevich trained under Philip Britten at the Capital and at the Michelin-starred Mulberry at Charlton House before taking over the listed stone building on Sherborne's green in 2012, and he has run it as chef-patron since: a daily-changing menu built on seasonal, local and foraged produce, served in a small family-run room with an enclosed garden terrace behind. The Michelin Guide keeps it at Bib Gourmand — good cooking, honestly priced — and the town treats it as its own. Tuesday to Saturday, lunch and dinner.
