The Doghouse occupies a single small room on Great George Street, a side street back from the Weymouth esplanade, and runs as a free house rather than tied to any one brewery. At least six real ales are on at any time, drawn from small operations such as Bowman, Downton and Three Acre alongside rotating guests, with real ciders from Isaac's, Noddy's and Twisted on handpump beside them. The floor is covered in old pump clips collected over years of trading, and the pub keeps its own dog, Sky, who greets customers at the door. Cask Marque has given the cellar its five-star accreditation. Dogs are welcome throughout, and children before seven in the evening. The pub keeps short hours, opening only from Tuesday to Saturday afternoons and closing on Sundays and Mondays.
