The Tyne Bar occupies a converted riverside building on Maling Street in Ouseburn, opened in November 1994 and still run as an independent pub and live-music venue. Its beer garden sits directly beneath the Glasshouse Bridge, a cast-iron structure from 1878 that carries traffic over the Ouseburn valley, giving the outdoor seating a distinctive backdrop close to the water. Inside, the bar keeps a rotating selection of cask ales and craft beers alongside a food menu of burgers, hot dogs and sharing plates served from midday to 9pm, with vegetarian and vegan options throughout. A small stage hosts free gigs and DJ sets most weeks, keeping the pub central to Ouseburn's long-standing live-music scene rather than trading purely as a drinking den.
