The Walking Hub occupies a shopfront at 2 High Street in Kington, run by Ali Allen, a British Nordic Walking Association-qualified instructor who moved into guiding and retail after a career in nursing. The shop combines a specialist barefoot and minimalist footwear retailer, trading alongside as Barefoot Shoe Box, with guided walking activity: taster sessions, classes and guided Nordic walks using poles to engage the whole body rather than just the legs. Kington sits on the Offa's Dyke Path and is promoted locally as Herefordshire's centre for walking, and the shop has been featured on BBC Radio 4's Ramblings with Clare Balding as a stop for walkers on the trail. Upstairs, the building also provides overnight accommodation for people passing through on multi-day walks. The shop stocks footwear, socks and outdoor accessories geared to barefoot and natural movement, alongside maps and trail information for Offa's Dyke and the surrounding Marches footpaths.
