Windswept Farm Shop trades from Tormisdale Farm on the Rhinns of Islay, about two miles from Port Charlotte on the road toward Portnahaven, overlooking the Atlantic. Jessie MacFarlane runs the shop with her husband Rod, selling beef and lamb reared on their own farm alongside wool and tweed goods, local cheese and chutney, smoked salmon and pâté, and chocolate and fudge from other island producers. The shop is open seven days a week from 10am to 4pm, cutting back to Friday-to-Sunday opening in January and February when visitor numbers on Islay drop. A small online shop supplements counter trade for customers off the island. The farm continues to run livestock alongside the retail operation, so stock reflects the season's lambing and slaughter rather than a fixed year-round range. It is a single-site business with no other outlets, reached along a single-track road that also passes the Cultoon stone circle.
