Wood Street Foodhall has traded from a converted shopfront in Old Town since 2013, combining a butchers counter, fishmonger, delicatessen and small grocery under one roof with an attached cafe. The butchery sources whole carcasses from regional farms and breaks them down on site, and staff will cut meat to order rather than sell only pre-packed portions. The deli counter runs alongside it with cheeses, cured meats and prepared salads, while the grocery shelves stock store-cupboard basics and local jams and chutneys. It is a family-run operation, staffed by the same faces most mornings, and takes phone and email orders for anything not on display, delivering locally by van. The cafe section at the front serves coffee and light lunches to customers browsing the counters.
