9 Vines opened on Woodland Parade near Hove Park in 2020, the work of a merchant with more than twenty years in the wine trade. The shop stocks upward of 600 bottles from across the world, from everyday drinking wine to serious vintages, alongside spirits, beer, cider, glassware and bar snacks. Customers can buy any bottle from the shelves and drink it in for a corkage fee, turning the single shop floor into an informal wine bar most evenings, with a rotating line-up of food trucks parked outside serving everything from tacos to wood-fired pizza. It operates from this one Hove Park address only, without other branches, and has built a following among locals who treat it as both bottle shop and local.
