ANH Artisan is a furniture maker and hand-tool woodworking school based at Harehope Quarry, a former limestone quarry near Frosterley in Weardale. Maker Andrew builds furniture to commission using hand tools rather than machine production, working from a timber workshop on the quarry site, and has exhibited pieces at the BALTIC in Gateshead, the Shipley Art Gallery, and the Bowes Museum. Alongside commissioned pieces, the workshop runs beginner and intermediate courses covering hand-tool joinery, box and cabinet making, and longer project courses built around a piece the student designs themselves. Courses run for individuals, pairs, and small groups, with dates published through the year. The workshop is a single small business rather than a franchised school, set within the quarry's wider wildlife site in the North Pennines.
