Anita Harris spent a decade as a senior designer at Poole Pottery, drawing for Liberty, Harrods and Tiffany, then came through the Moorcroft group's Cobridge Stoneware before redundancy pushed her out on her own in 2006 — one of the last named designers still making art pottery in the city that invented the trade. Her son Peter joined in 2009, and the two of them produce every hand-decorated piece from the Minkstone Works in Longton; the specialist auction houses that resell her work have taken to calling it antiques of the future, which is the trade's way of saying buy it now. There is no shop counter — visits are strictly by appointment, and the phone is the door.
