Jacksons Nurseries began as a hobby plot at Baddeley Green in the 1950s, started by schoolteacher Peter Jackson and known locally as Uncle Joe's. In 1967 Peter and his wife Barbara bought Lawn Farm on Thorney Edge Road in Bagnall, where the single-site nursery has remained since, growing most of its own stock of shrubs, roses, alpines, climbers and trees. Peter left teaching in 1985 and his son Roger joined full-time the following year, later taking over the business with his wife Ruth. In January 2025 a further generation, Luke Jackson, took charge of day-to-day running. Alongside the plant nursery, the site holds a tea room serving homemade food and cake, and a farm shop stocking locally sourced produce and home baking.
