Griffins of Stone stands on the High Street in Stone, a family butchery set up by Nick Griffin in 2015. The shop dry-ages its own beef on the premises and bakes pork pies in-house under chef baker Karen, who runs the bakery side of the counter. Griffin buys livestock from named farms within the county rather than through a central supplier, listed on the shop's own farm page. The pork pie was a finalist for Britain's Best Bakery Product in 2021, and the shop has picked up regional butchery awards since opening. Alongside fresh cuts, the counter stocks sausages, meatballs and ready meals made from the same beef, plus a small range of local cheeses and condiments. Griffin also runs occasional butchery masterclasses from the shop for customers who want to learn knife work directly from the team.
