Whitebridge Wines has traded from a warehouse unit on the Whitebridge Estate in Stone since Francis Peel, an Oxford theology graduate, founded the business in 1983. Decades on, the company remains family run, with Patricia Peel still involved alongside Francis, and stocks close to a thousand wines shipped in directly from producers across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and South America. The warehouse format keeps prices below typical high-street wine shop levels, and staff offer free glass hire for parties and weddings alongside mixed cases built to a customer's brief. Spirits, Riedel glassware, olive oil and communion wine are stocked alongside the wine racks. A loyalty scheme and regular in-store tastings draw trade from across the Midlands rather than just from Stone itself, and the business still ships direct rather than through a distributor.
